My 15 year old son and I were staying in the Birmingham area for a concert at the LG Arena, so I did some research on Trip Advisor to find a place for a good curry beforehand.

We decided to go to another curry house in Coleshill which had excellent reviews and was number one in Coleshill (only a short drive from the NEC area). We parked directly outside the resturant we chose and I saw the Balti Cottage immediately opposite.

On first glance, I liked the look at the premises more than the restaurant we had planned to visit. We got out, looked at both menus and decided to change our plans and eat at the Balti Cottage.

A quick look on Trip Advisor shows that this place is not listed as Coleshill, but as Birmingham. I'm not quite sure how that can be, but in we went.

We had two different kebab starters - fantastic. We then had two different Baltis (Meat/Mushroom & Prawn Sag) witha garlic nan each for main course - Wow!!!

Absolutely fantastic food, bursting with flavour. The staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful, and although I may never know if the other restaurant is better, I certainly wouldn't want a better curry than this one. We were delighted with our decision making and if we go to a concert at the NEC again, we will definitely be back. Very highly recommended restaurant.

Always a great welcome , even when you haven't been in for a while !

Seven of us visited on a snowy Saturday evening as other plans had been cancelled and we fancied something to eat.

Have quite a lot of different dishes as well as your standard Indian fair - also a pretty decent wine list

The Chef Recommendation section comes with rice -so makes for a reasonably priced choice - I can HIGHLY recommend the " lamb shank" - a shank of lamb on the bone doused in Kurchi spices and sauce - literally melt in the mouth and falls off the bone

Every main course came with an immediate comment from the diner at our table of " OMG thats delicious ! " .. can't really say fairer than that! Its a small restaurant so whilsts you can go in on spec - I'd suggest booking ( albeit we managed to get in for 7 people at 7.45pm on spec -- but with the atrocious weather its possibly why ! )

I have not eaten at every Indian in Coleshill ( mainly as they keep adding more and changing hands! ) I tend to go back to the ones that I know when I have a treat out -- go here - you won't be disappointed!

I love the balti cottage they do the best currys in coleshill and the staff make u feel really welcome, there chicken pathia is the best ive tried anywhere so fully recommend that! i will never use any other curry house in coleshill.

I think the staff here were absolute troopers, because they managed to look after our party very well, even with all the changes we requested. Food generally tasty, but a little overdone on the onion front, compared to all the other Baltis we have visited. Decor a little run down, but get the feeling this is more the "after the pub" venue, rather than somewhere you'd go for a smart meal.

The best of the 4 Indian restaurants in coleshill, friendly service and great food. I thoroughly recommend the specials, I've eaten most and they are all excellent. Haseena is my favourite. Happy eating.

I'm a German, and tried every Indian restaurant in the area , and I stuck to the Balti Cottage because the staff is just serving you as if you are a king and second and probably the most impotant thing is, that the food/kitchen is just excellent! SO if you come along, makr sure you don't miss the "Balti Cottage"!!!!
